About Your Charges 2019-20

In 2019/20, the charges which cover the water supply and waste water collection services to your home (your Combined Services charge), detailed on your Council Tax bill, is again being limited to 1.6% higher than the amount you paid last year (2018/19) – around £6 a year for the average household.

It means the average Scottish Water household charge in 2019/20 will be £369 – around £1 a day*.
The average Scottish Water bill will stay lower than the average bill in England and Wales. These charges will run from the 1st of April 2019 to 31st of March 2020.

Each year we invest every penny we collect through customer charges to run and improve your water and waste water services. Between 2015 and 2021, we are investing over £3.5 billion in projects, the length and breadth of Scotland, to enhance the infrastructure of the country’s water and waste water services and to ensure customer experience levels remain high.

*The average household is between Council Tax Band B and Band C and has a combined bill of around £1 a day. Individual Water Supply and Waste Water Collection charges are less than £1 a day for all households (except for the individual Waste Water Collection charges for Band G households and the individual Water Supply and Waste Water Collection charges for Band H households).
