About Your Charges 2018-19
In 2018/19, the charges which cover the water supply and waste water collection services to your home (your Combined Services charge), detailed on your Council Tax bill, is again being limited to 1.6% higher than the amount you paid last year (2017/18) – around £6 a year for average household.
It means the average Scottish Water household charge in 2018/19 will be £363 – less than £1 a day*. This is £42 below the average bill of the private water companies in England and Wales. These charges will run from the 1st of April 2018 to 31st of March 2019.

Each year we invest every penny we collect through customer charges to run and improve your water and waste water services. Between 2015 and 2021, Scottish Water is investing £3.5 billion in projects the length and breadth of Scotland. The six-year investment will maintain and improve water and waste water treatment works and the network of water supply pipe and sewers – providing customers with improved services, helping to protect the natural environment and supporting jobs in the Scottish economy.
*The average household is between Council Tax Band B and Band C and has a combined bill of less than £1 a day. Individual Water Supply and Waste Water Collection charges are less than £1 a day for all households (except for the individual Waste Water Collection charges for Band G households and the individual Water Supply and Waste Water Collection charges for Band H households).
