Pollokshaws Road is a key commuter route into Glasgow from the south. Road users are advised to plan their journey to avoid unnecessary delays
We are carrying out an emergency repair on a damaged sewer on Pollokshaws Road between Moss-Side Road and Langside Avenue/Minard Road in Shawlands, Glasgow.
Due to the depth of the damaged section of pipework - approximately five metres - we are using specialist machinery to excavate. This requires a lane closure so traffic management has been deployed to make sure our teams and road users are kept safe while the work progresses.
We are anticipating it taking until early October 2024 to complete the repair and reinstate the road and pavement.
Given the location - on a busy commuter route at a main junction - we appreciate there will be disruption and inevitable delays. We can only thank all affected for their patience and understanding while we carry out the repair.
