What Are We Doing?

Engineers will dig down up to six metres to the damaged section of sewer pipe to carry out permanent repairs.

We have been working closely with Glasgow City Council to finalise the traffic management so that the work can be delivered safely.

From Monday 10th January the northbound carriageway of Kilmarnock Road will be closed at its junctions with Carment Drive and Eastwood Avenue for around three months. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation during this time.

Please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey. Local businesses will be open as normal.

Trefoil Avenue will also be completely closed at the Kilmarnock Road junction, with some access and parking to be maintained.

Why Are We Doing it?

Following damage to the sewer, a temporary pumping solution has been in place at the junction of Kilmarnock Road and Trefoil Avenue in Shawlands for some time now.

A permanent repair must be carried out to minimise the risk of sewer flooding in the area and to ensure we deliver first-class service to our customers.
