Project Update - January 2025

We’re continuing with essential upgrades to the water network, ensuring our customers can enjoy fresh, clear drinking water while also reducing the risk of pipe bursts in the future.

Unfortunately, some additional work was identified during the project, which we have now completed.

Last week, we carried out essential preparation work on the new water main. The next stage, including connection works, is planned for 20th January, pending final sample results.

Please rest assured we are doing everything we can to minimise disruption and complete the work as efficiently as possible.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we carry out these essential upgrades.

What to expect?

A section of road at Markle Steading and the Rail Level Crossing will be closed for the duration of the work. Please take care and allow extra time for journeys while following diversion routes, which will be via Pencraig Brae and East Linton Village.

No traffic, except for emergency vehicles, will be permitted through the rail crossing. Contingency plans are in place with the council for the local school bus to collect and drop off pupils as normal.

The East Coast Railway Line will not be impacted by the work and will continue to operate as normal. Local resident access will also be maintained.

We will be operating Monday to Friday between 07:00 and 18:00. All efforts will be made to minimise disruption where possible.

The work is being carried out by our delivery partner, Cleantech Civils.
