We will be carrying out essential work on Townend Road, Symington, to upgrade the water pipes and ensure residents continue to enjoy clear, fresh drinking water.

The work will begin on Monday 22nd July and will last approximately 8 weeks.

From Monday 22nd July, temporary traffic restrictions will be in place on Townend Road for two weeks, with 4-way traffic lights to be installed on its junctions.

From Monday 5th August until Friday 6th September, Townhead Road will be closed between Corraith Road and the roundabout with Townhead Terrace/Townhead Brae. Local diversion signage will be in place along the B730.

From Monday 9th September, Townend Road will reopen and will instead be controlled by 4-way temporary traffic lights at the roundabout with Townhead Terrace/Townhead Brae.

There will be further traffic management on Townend Road at the Rumbling Burn, controlled by 2-way lights from 9th September.

Please follow all directional signage put in place.

We will be taking steps to ensure any noise disruption is kept to a minimum and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Work is being carried out by our contractor, Clancy Docwra.
