Fort William Site Investigations
Site investigations
Work will be taking place on a section of the A82 Achintore Road and various sections of Lundavra Road and Connochie Road
We will be carrying out site investigation work in Fort William in January 2026.
Through our commercial subsidiary Scottish Water Horizons we are designing a project to upgrade the local sewer network to support development in the area.
Site investigations will be taking place on a section of the A82 Achintore Road and various sections of Lundavra Road and Connochie Road.
From Monday 19 January 2026 until the morning of Friday 23 January our contractor Morrison Construction will be working overnight between 8pm and 6am.
This will involve using ground penetrating radar which will not involve any excavating so there should be minimal noise or light disruption.
Further overnight and day working will take place intermittently between now and mid-March. This will involve checking manholes, with the potential that excavation test holes are required to finalise the design process. Temporary traffic lights will be in place intermittently to make sure the work can be carried out safely.
The A82 is a critical road through Fort William and Lundavra Road is the only route to access a large number of houses and the local primary school so every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum but inevitably local residents may experience some noise from construction equipment.
We would like to thank everyone affected for their patience and understanding.
