Project Overview

Scottish Water has completed work to upgrade the water pipes in Kirkintilloch to support community growth and ensure its customers continue to enjoy fresh, clear drinking water for years to come.

The work took place on both Freeland Place and a section of Forth and Clyde Canal Towpath.

Scottish Water Horizons delivered the work in conjunction with Mackenzie Construction.

Latest Update - January 2026

The canal path was fully reinstated and reopened on 19th December. The site cabin and equipment were also removed at this time. All planned work at this location has now been successfully completed.
