Road closed on Dixon Avenue

Our teams are on site to work on the repair

Dixon Avenue in Glasgow is closed to traffic between Victoria Road and Langside Road to allow us to carry out an essential sewer repair.

There is also a short closure at the end of Westmoreland Street where it meets Dixon Avenue.

Work started on Monday 6 January 2025 and will last at least four weeks.

These urgent works are required to repair the damaged sewer and to prevent sewer flooding in the area.

Update January 2025

Our teams have made good progress on the repair so far, replacing 15 metres of pipe.

We are continuing to remove all damaged sections of the sewer and, once this is complete, we will be in a position to patch and line the remaining section.

While there will not be access for delivery vehicles, our team will do their best to accommodate residents, for example by helping with deliveries.

Our site team have liaised with the local authority to ensure bin collections will continue as normal. We will work with residents to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum.

We appreciate the road closures will cause some disruption for residents and road users but can only thank them for their patience and understanding while we carry out this essential work to maintain the local sewer network.
