Septic Tank Services Online Account

The Septic Tank Online Account is a convenient digital service designed to help you manage your septic tank emptying services more easily.

With this account, you can:

  • Select and request the right service for your tank
  • View your future and completed service details, including Job Card (WTN for completed jobs)
  • Request to cancel or change your service
  • Keep your contact and tank details up to date 
  • Select how you want to be communicated with by Scottish Water 
  • Select how you want to pay for your tank completed service and find out how to pay

You can use the online Service Availability Checker to check what Scottish Water septic tank emptying services are available for your tank location. You do not need an account to use it – just enter a valid Scottish postcode.

You can set up your own account, manage and pay for your septic tank services online via the link below

Setting up an account

To register, you’ll need:

  • A valid email address. It will be used as login for your account and to receive a verification code during the setup process, and if you need e.g. to reset your password. 
  • A mobile number

You’ll begin by entering your contact details. Then you can add your tank and access details, and then request an emptying service that is available for your tank location. 

Make a service request

To request a service, you'll need to:

  • Go to Tanks and Service page
  • Select your tank and click ‘Book Service’
  • Follow the steps to select type and details of emptying services that are available for your tank location. 

You will be able to add or remove multiple septic tanks.

Cancel or change a service request

You can cancel your service or ‘skip’ your next service (if you have requested regular services) by:

  • Go to Tanks and Service page
  • Select your tank and view details of your services 
  • Click ‘Cancel’ or ‘Skip’ to remove the service or
  • Click ‘Change service’ to amend the service details you have requested  

Our team will review your request and confirm that the change can be made.

Check when next service is due

You can view your upcoming services by visiting the Tanks and Services page in your online account. Each tank will show its next scheduled date and type of the service. 

Pay for service

You can make a payment whilst in your online account.

To make a payment:

  • Go to the Tanks and Services page and your tank
  • Click on the Tank History link
  • From there, you can view the completed service details and a link to Scottish Water secure online payment.  

You'll need the following details to complete your payment:

  • Customer Reference Number (found on your invoice or on your tank History) 
  • invoice ID (found on your invoice) 
  • Email address

To make your payment you can also go directly to Make a Payment page.

Make changes to online account

To update your contact or address details:

  • Go to the Account Details page via the homepage
  • Select the section you’d like to update

Please note: You cannot change the name you used to set up your account, but you will be able to add additional contacts and select them to be used by Scottish Water to contact you.  You will be able to request to change the email address that you use to log into your online account. 

Close an account

Go to the Account Details page via the homepage of your account and choose to close your account.  You will be able to close it ‘now’ or select a future date.

Please note: To close your account, you will need to complete (or cancel) any requested services and pay for any completed services. 

 

Support and Feedback

If you have a question or issue, you can raise a query on the Queries page on the home page of your account.  You will be asked to provide:

  • The nature of your query
  • A short description
  • A photo, if relevant

Once submitted, your query will appear in your account with a reference number and status updates.
