Sewer upgrade work at Windhill and Muir of Ord

Approximately 1.7km of new sewer has been constructed

We have constructed approximately 1.7km of new sewer between the existing Windhill pumping station off the A862 to the south east side of Muir of Ord.

We thank the community for their patience, understanding and co-operation while these essential works took place.

Archaeological findings

A burial ground believed to date from the 6th century AD and two Iron Age roundhouses that could be up to 3,000 years old were revealed during delivery of this project.

Bone fragments from a burial monument - known as a barrow - are now being carbon dated and hold the key to determining the age of the body inside it.
