Stevenston Burst Sewer Main

Burst Sewer Main
The area surrounding the burst has been fenced off and made safe
We are currently working to investigate and repair a 700mm burst rising sewer main in Stevenston.
This has occurred in the field area beside Clark Crescent and is approx. six metres below ground.
We are in the process of fencing off the area to ensure public safety, and preparations are being made to begin excavation so we can fully understand the extent of the issue. In the meantime, pumps will remain in operation to help manage flows until all plant is mobilised to site.
We are making arrangements to begin tankering within the next couple of days to manage flows on the network. This activity will take place across multiple sites, so residents may notice increased traffic in the area.
Customers’ water and waste water services will not be impacted by this work.
We will be speaking with local residents to keep them updated on our works and we are also speaking with North Ayrshire Council to try and arrange alternative parking for residents in Clark Street.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) is also being kept informed and we are doing everything we can to minimise any environmental impact and disruption for the local community.

We are mobilising to site with our equipment and machinery

We have fenced off the affected area with herras fencing
