The burst is located on a 700mm rising sewer main in the field beside Clark Crescent
We are currently dealing with a burst on the 700mm rising sewer main in Stevenston.
The burst occurred in a field at the end of Clark Crescent.
Our team has located the defect within the sewer and have started work on the repairs.
We expect around 80m of pipe will need to be replaced, as well as the need for additional lining works.
We expect the work will take approximately two weeks to complete. To complete this emergency work in a timely manner, we will be extending our working hours to 6am – 10pm, Monday to Saturday and 8pm – 10pm on Sundays.
Tankering operations remain in place to help manage flows and minimise any environmental impact, and the area continues to be securely fenced off for public safety.
We continue to liaise with SEPA.
We thank the local community for their patience and understanding while we carry out these emergency works.
Customers’ water and waste water services will not be impacted.
We will continue to do all we can to minimise any environmental impact and disruption for the local community.
