Water Main Upgrade: Culbokie & Surrounding Areas

Project Overview

We are carrying out essential upgrades to the water main in Culbokie and surrounding areas to ensure our customers continue to enjoy fresh, clear drinking water, and reduce the chances of pipes bursting. 

The work will be carried out in phases. 

There will be roadworks during the period of work, including various road closures and temporary traffic lights. 

The work will be delivered by Morrison Construction on behalf of Scottish Water.

Latest Information - June 2025

As of the end of May work is complete in Balnabeen and Knockbain areas, and nearing completion in the Milton/Findon area.

The next phase of the project will take place in the centre of Culbokie, along the main street (B9169) from Schoolcroft to Findon Hall, including work within Schoolcroft, where we’ll be installing a new water main.

Works also continue in Easter Kinkell to Culbo.

Road closures will continue from the B9169 at Culbokie Hall to the B9163 at Findon until July 2025. Local access will be maintained.

You may also experience some noise from construction equipment and increased traffic, but we will to our best to minimise this.

What to Expect

  • B9169 Raven Croft to Church Centre:
    Temporary traffic lights in place from 16 June for approximately 15 weeks. 
  • Easter Kinkell:
    Temporary traffic lights on the B9169 from Knocknafanaig Road junction to Wellhouse junction from 7 July for approximately six weeks.
  • Schoolcroft:
    Road closure from 8 July for approximately 12 weeks.

Diversion routes will be clearly signposted with local access maintained.
