What We Are Doing
The project includes installing a clear water tank, building a valve chamber, and making changes to the ground around it. It also involves creating an earth embankment, constructing an internal road, and putting up a boundary fence that is 2.6 meters high.
ESD worked with Scottish Water and the Local Highways Authority to carry out a Route Access Assessment. They found that there is only one possible route to reach the site. Therefore, there will be a mandatory speed limit for construction traffic and appropriate signage installed. We will also be implementing a restriction on waiting for the section at the bottom of Burnbrae.
We will make sure every precaution is in place to minimise disruption in the area.

Latest Update
The initial groundwork phase of the project is now complete, allowing us to commence construction of the new clear water tank.
This next phase will begin week commencing 7 July 2025, as concrete, rebar, shutters and a concrete pump as required will be delivered to site, and is expected to last approximately 12 months.
The bulk of work will take place in the coming months, and the roof of the tank is scheduled to be poured in the summer of 2026.
