Upgrading Your Water Services: Evanton to Dingwall
Project Overview
We are improving the water services in your community by upgrading the water pipes between Evanton and Dingwall.
Customers living in this area have experienced recurring interruptions to their water supply - 15 in the last three years and 10 in the last year alone. This is essential investment to upgrade the network, ensuring customers can enjoy clear, fresh drinking water while reducing the risk of pipe bursts.
As part of this project, we will be installing approximately 8.2km of new water mains at various locations between Evanton and Dingwall.
The work will be carried out by Pat Munro, appointed by our contractor, Caledonia Water Alliance.

What Happens Next
Work commenced late January 2025 and is expected to take approximately 10 months to complete.
To carry out these essential upgrades, the works will involve both private land and local roads, requiring traffic management measures for safety.
Update June 2025
After listening to the concerns that have been expressed by
local communities, the project team has considered the issues raised and is
proposing to defer the work to A862 that is needed to renew the local water network
until Spring 2026.
This will allow our design team to explore options further to minimise the impact of the work on the road network. It remains unlikely that a road closure on the A862 can be avoided; however, the later timing now proposed will give the team opportunity to look again at the feasibility of all options which could reduce the length of disruption.
In the meantime, we would like to apologise for the concerns
that the proposed road closure has cause locally. While the work we need
to do to renew the local water network is essential, our aim is always to
minimise and mitigate the disruption that this involves as far as we reasonably
can.
