Upgrading Your Water Services: Evanton to Dingwall
Project Overview
We are improving the water services in your community by upgrading the water pipes between Evanton and Dingwall. These upgrades will ensure you continue to enjoy clear, fresh drinking water while reducing the risk of pipe bursts.
As part of this project, we will be installing approximately 8.2km of new water mains at various locations between Evanton and Dingwall.
The work will be carried out by Pat Munro, appointed by our contractor, Caledonia Water Alliance.

When We Are Doing It
Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, 27th January 2025, and is expected to take approximately 10 months to complete.
What Happens Next
To carry out these essential upgrades, the works will involve both private land and local roads, requiring traffic management measures for safety. A document illustrating traffic management plans can be found at the bottom of this page. Here’s what to expect:
Road Closures
- A section of Old Evanton Road near Ardullie and the road linking to the A9 will require a closure from 5th March 2025 for 5 weeks. Further communication with details will be sent nearer the time, and all closures will be signposted in advance.
Rolling Lane Closure (With Traffic Lights):
- A862 (Cromarty Bridge to Dingwall): Rolling lane closure in place for approximately 20 weeks starting 8th April 2025.
Temporary Works in Specific Locations:
- Highland Farm Café/Mountgerald: Work starting 3rd February 2025 for approximately 5 weeks.
- Ardullie Farm: Work starting 29th January 2025 for approximately 5–6 weeks.
- Ardullie Lodge: Work starting 10th February 2025 for approximately 2 weeks.
- Valve Installation: Near Highland Farm Café, work starting 7th March 2025 for approximately 3 days.
Our contractor, Caledonia Water Alliance has appointed Pat Munro to carry out this work on our behalf. They will do everything possible to minimise disruption to your daily life.
